Cornwallis’ Campaign - Wilmington to Yorktown - by Emily Weil
This second book by Emily Weil has been well reviewed as an “excellent historic accomplishment of wartime impacts on this area.” This creative non-fiction book tells the story of the British General’s march from the port city of Wilmington, N.C., through what would later become Wayne County, finally to his defeat at Yorktown, New York. Well researched and documented, it tells the story of people, places and events along the route and the impact the movement of such a large army and its followers would have on the local communities. |
